Official partner of Les Clefs d’Or Belgium 2026
In 2026, Le Roy d’Espagne had the honour of receiving the Certificate of Excellence from Les Clefs d’Or Belgium, the international association bringing together five-star hotel concierges from around the world. This recognition formalises our partnership with a community of excellence that has been working for decades to offer travellers the finest addresses in every city.
Being distinguished by the concierges of Brussels’ most prestigious establishments (Steigenberger, Amigo, Marriott, Radisson, MGallery, Faubourg 21, Corinthia) reflects our daily commitment to attentive hospitality and cuisine worthy of our location at the heart of the Grand-Place. A special thank you to Hervé Vandendrice, President of Les Clefs d’Or Belgium, and to Ahlem Mosaddak, Vice-President, for their trust.
Best vol-au-vent in Brussels, as voted by the public
Our poularde vol-au-vent was named among the great classics celebrated by the Brussels public in the 2025 competition organised by BXLOVE, dedicated to defending the culinary heritage of the capital. An award that recognises a recipe crafted with exacting standards, faithful to Belgian tradition, and prepared every day by our chefs using fresh produce.
Beyond the recognition itself, this competition reflects a conviction we have always held: the Brussels brasserie is a living art form, one that deserves to be passed on with care. Vol-au-vent is one of those dishes that tells the story of a city, and we are proud to keep it alive on the Grand-Place.
Our chef Bruno Lesbats inducted into the Académie Culinaire de France
On 11 April 2025, during an official ceremony held at the Maison des Brasseurs on the Grand-Place in Brussels, our chef Bruno Lesbats was inducted into the Académie Culinaire de France. He is one of ten professionals distinguished by the Belgium-Luxembourg delegation for their expertise, their passion and their contribution to the influence of Brussels gastronomy.
This prestigious recognition honours the daily work of our chef, who brings to Le Roy d’Espagne an authentic Belgian cuisine, crafted from quality produce, accessible to all tastes and at any time of day. A source of pride for our entire team, and a further testament to the standards that guide our house.
Good Food label: two toques for responsible cuisine
Le Roy d’Espagne holds the GoodFood label from the Brussels-Capital Region, a programme that recognises restaurants committed to sustainable food practices. Our establishment has been awarded a score of two toques, a rating that evaluates the provenance of produce, respect for the seasons, food waste management and transparency towards customers.
This label is regularly reassessed on the basis of objective criteria. It cannot be bought: it is earned through verifiable practices on a daily basis, from the selection of suppliers through to the management of what leaves our kitchens.
