Good Food-certified cuisine

Le Roy d’Espagne is proud to hold the GoodFood label, awarded by the Brussels-Capital Region to restaurants committed to sustainable and responsible food practices. Our establishment has been awarded two toques, reflecting the quality of our daily commitment.

This commitment is reflected concretely in our kitchen: rigorous selection of produce, respect for the seasons, reduction of food waste and promotion of short supply chains. Because quality cuisine starts with responsible choices.

The best vol-au-vent in Brussels

In 2025, our poularde vol-au-vent was voted the best vol-au-vent in Brussels by the public. A fine recognition of the work of our chefs, who prepare this great Belgian classic using fresh produce and artisan expertise.

Our awards and certifications

Fresh and local produce

At Le Roy d’Espagne, our chefs favour fresh ingredients, selected from local producers and Belgian partners. Snails from Warnant, artisan mozzarella made in Brussels with locally sourced buffalo milk, organically grown vegetables from within the city, carefully chosen meats: every product tells a story and reflects a craft. We pay particular attention to seasonal produce and short supply chains. This approach allows us to offer a generous and modern cuisine while respecting the traditional recipes of the great Belgian brasseries.

Veggies & vegans welcome

At Le Roy d’Espagne, we want everyone to be able to enjoy Belgian gastronomy. Our menu offers vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free dishes, prepared with the same standards and the same fresh produce as all our other recipes.

Halal options are also available on the menu, and kosher menus can be prepared on reservation at least 36 hours in advance.

A menu attentive to everyone

Every dish on our menu clearly indicates the allergens present. Gluten-free and lactose-free options are available, and our front-of-house team is on hand to guide you in your choices. Le Roy d’Espagne also offers halal dishes on the menu, prepared with the same care and the same quality produce. Kosher menus can also be arranged on reservation, at least 36 hours in advance.

Bio-waste & recycling

In the Brussels-Capital Region, the sorting of bio-waste is now compulsory for restaurants. At Le Roy d’Espagne, we have fully embraced this approach: our organic waste is sorted every day, collected and recycled. And to complete the loop, collection is done by bike, further reducing our footprint on the city.

This commitment is part of our broader ambition to offer responsible cuisine at every stage: from the choice of produce at our local suppliers through to the management of what leaves our kitchens. It is also the meaning behind our Good Food label and our two toques.
